Howell Mountain

The Napa Wine Country's rugged northern area reaches far enough up the valley to escape the cooling influences of San Pablo Bay. Rising dramatically to the east of Calistoga and St Helena, Howell Mountain and its tumbling hinterlands screen the tiny town of Angwin (famous for its Seventh Day Adventist Academy) from prying eyes. A Napa wine tasting tour through the Howell Mountain appellation can easily be followed up with a visit to scenic Robert Lewis Stevenson State Park, which is just a short drive away from Mt St Helena.
